Sussex County Genealogical Society | Finding Forgotten Family Through Vintage Samplers

Online
In-Person or Online

Join Sussex County Genealogical Society (SCGS) for a presentation by Cynthia Steihoff, who will take us through the steps she uses to find family and history through collecting and researching vintage samplers. Have you ever wondered about the people who created the detailed samplers in your back closet or through the ones you purchased at an antique store? Steihoff will share her collection of samplers as well as the steps she took to find the people whose name only appears on the samplers. History meets art meets research meets family and surprises along the way.

SCGS is a non-profit organization and its mission is to promote genealogy and educational work in a professional manner, encourage and instruct its members in genealogical research through careful documentation and maintain quality genealogical standards.
