Sussex County Genealogical Society | WWI and WWII Records: When You Have No OMPF? No Problem!
Online
Join Sussex County Genealogical Society (SCGS) for a presentation by Sara Cochran. Researching 20th Century veterans is especially difficult as a fire destroyed millions of Official Military Personnel Files (OMPF) in 1973. This class will look at other ways to find the stories of the WWI and WII veterans in our families.
Sara Cochran is a full-time professional genealogist with thirty years of research experience. Her research has taken her to nearly every state in the USA and Ireland. She especially enjoys breaking down brick walls, discovering the stories of black sheep ancestors, and helping individuals preserve their photographic legacy. Cochran holds a Boston University Genealogical Research Certificate, a Bachelor's Degree in Library Science, and is an alumna of the ProGen Study Group.
SCGS is a non-profit organization and its mission is to promote genealogy and educational work in a professional manner, encourage and instruct its members in genealogical research through careful documentation and maintain quality genealogical standards.
