Sussex Bird Club | What Is a Sea Watch?

Sussex Bird Club | What Is a Sea Watch?

Online & In-Person

Join local birder Anthony Gonzon as he shares his adventures hosting the Indian River Inlet Sea Watch each winter season. From alcids to eiders and everything in between, Anthony will describe some of the species birders might encounter, talk about their movements in the near-shore environment, and relate his observations to month, weather, and tides. Anthony will provide you with tips and recommendations on how to ID these coastal birds and when to search for them. There may be a seal or other mammal thrown in for good measure, too!

Anthony Gonzon is a Delaware birder with a passion for the outdoors. Graduating from the University of Delaware with a degree in Wildlife Conservation and Entomology, Anthony currently works as a conservation planner along the Delaware Bayshore. Anthony regularly can be found out in the wilds of Delaware birding, including leading field trips for the Delaware Ornithological Society and the Delmarva Birding Weekends.

This is the monthly meeting of The Sussex Bird Club. The Sussex Bird Club's primary objective is to promote the knowledge and enjoyment of wild birds through guided field trips and monthly meetings about various aspects of birding. Meetings are open to all and beginning birders are always welcome.
