SUMMARY:Celebrate Black History - A Musical Journey With Matthew
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Black History with a unique\, educational music
program tailored to all age groups that will have your feet tapping and
your hands clapping!\n\nTravel along the Mississippi Delta and explore
genres such as Ragtime\, Stride\, Boogie Woogie\, and New Orleans Blues.
Hear how they imparted their influence on Swing\, Country\, Rock n' Roll\,
and other musical styles that forever reshaped how we think about music\,
and the emotional response it triggers within us.\n\nUnderstand how Black
history is an integral part of American history. Without it\, the music and
culture of yesteryear that we so cherish would not leave enduring\,
everlasting memories.\n\nThis program is sponsored by the Friends of the
Newark Free Library\, who are a volunteer non-profit organization bringing
support to your library through funding and advocacy.\n\nRegistration
Required! Please register for each individual attending. All ages welcome!
