The Music School of Delaware Presents Wish to the Sea | An Evening with Second Opinion

The Music School of Delaware Presents Wish to the Sea | An Evening with Second Opinion

In-person

Join us by the fireplace in the library for an evening of music by Second Opinion, an electric piano and guitar duo that joyfully delivers both original songs and classic standards. Their specialties are high-energy swing and laid back Latin-style jazz, spiced up with elements of rock, funk, and fusion. Tonight’s program will feature Chris and Paul’s own pieces, as well as music by Benny Goodman, Thelonious Monk, and Cole Porter.

Member Paul Boris studied commercial music at Rowan University, specializing in music performance in jazz/blues piano, composition, and classical piano. Member Chris Braddock has performed in concerts and other events at more than a hundred regional venues, and his compositions can be heard on several locally released recordings.  As long as there are different ways to play, there will always be a Second Opinion.

Co-hosted by The Music School of Delaware. The Music School of Delaware is open to all and has something for everyone. The school offers on-site and virtual programming encompassing: private lessons in approximately 30 instruments and voice, early childhood classes, Suzuki Academy, orchestral, choral and small ensembles for children and adults, group instruction, music history and musicianship classes, music therapy, an “el sistema” ensemble program for underserved populations, and programs especially for adults. Instruction is offered in classical, rock, jazz, and folk genres. The school presents over 120 public performances annually. The Music School has continuously operated since its founding nearly a century ago, in 1924.  The only statewide community music school in the nation, The Music School of Delaware is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Pre-Collegiate Arts Schools, and by the National Association of Schools of Music, and is a charter member of the National Guild for Community Arts Education. The Music School received Delaware’s Governor’s Award for the Arts in 2010.
