Craft Club | Paper Weaving
Join us in the library for a craft workshop offered by local artist Rita Healey on paper weaving. Participants will use multiple kinds of papers and yarns to create an unusual picture. Attendees will briefly discuss the basics of weaving, and make a paper loom out of watercolor paper. The loom will be the warp threads (the threads that go up and down) and the weft threads (the threads that go across) which will lock in our designs. A paper shredder will be used to get even cuts of paper. Participants may bring in a copy of an old photograph to shred and use in the project.
No experience is necessary. Class size is limited to 10 people.
NOTE: this class often has a wait list. If you sign up and are no longer able to attend, please cancel your registration immediately. If you are placed on the wait list, please check your email frequently for a notice on whether you have moved into the class.
If you do not cancel your registration and do not show up for the class, the library has the option to decline your registration for future workshops.
