Eating Smart and Moving More for Adults

A nutrition assistant from the University of Delaware will present a 6-week nutrition class that teaches individuals how to make healthy, inexpensive meals.  The lessons also include food safety, reading food labels, physical activity and the correct portion sizes.  Each student will also receive calendars with recipes, measuring cups and spoons, meat and refrigerator thermometers, a free bag of groceries, and a certificate of completion. The classes are free and open to all 18 and older; registration is required.  Participants should join no later than the second session on March 9.  To register, please call 302-855-1242 or visit the library calendar at greenwood.lib.de.us.

This program is designed to teach patrons valuable cooking skills in a fun and upbeat environment while covering topics such as nutrition, food prep, kitchen safety, cultural foods, and budgeting.
