Did you know approximately 16% of the US population is 65 and over but here in Sussex, the over 65 population accounts for almost 30% of the population? Join Jo-Ann Vega for a look at the recently released 1950 census followed by a lively discussion on how the country has changed since 1950. This includes an examination of population growth and demographic shifts. Then the population of the US was 151 Million, 89.5% White and 10% Black and in 70 years the population more than doubled to 331 Million, which includes 62% White, 12% Black, and 20% Hispanic.
