Spotlights: The Old Man and the Bay

Spotlights: The Old Man and the Bay

The Spotlights Series are weekly performances by a variety performing artists including storytellers, musicians, and theater groups held throughout the summer. These shows are family-friendly and are perfect for children ages three and up. Spotlights is provided in parts by several organizations: The Friends of the Rehoboth Beach Public Library, Delaware Division of the Arts and the Delaware Division of Libraries.

This week's show features the New Moon Theater's presentation of Old Man and the Bay. Explore the history of the Chesapeake Bay with explorers, pirates, settlers, and waterman, told in tale and song. Singer and actor Tom Zielinski spins the tales, interspersed with sea chantey sing-a-longs, keeping audiences actively engaged in history.

Since 2006, New Moon Theater has been presenting engaging, interactive, professional theater and opera in schools, libraries, camps and museums. New Moon Theater was last seen at the Rehoboth Beach Library during the 2020 Summer Library program.
