Costumes on loan from the Folger Theatre of the Folger Shakespeare Library are on display inside the library throughout the month. These outfits were used in professional Shakespeare productions performed at the Folger:

  • Gertrude's silk coat and silver suit from 2010 production of Hamlet
  • Claudius' silk flowing cape with ruff and gray, woolen suit from 2014 production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
  • Ophelia silk flowing dress from 2014 production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
  • Hamlet silk flowing cape and black doublet and pants from 2014 production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
  • Gertrude flowered dress and silk flowing cape from 2014 production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
  • Nurse multi-layered tweedy dress with apron from 2016 production of Romeo and Juliet
  • Lady Capulet embroidered red dress from 2016 production of Romeo and Juliet
  • Lord Capulet tunic, shirt, and pant from 2016 production of Romeo and Juliet

Costumes may be viewed during library business hours. No registration is necessary.
