How to Be Your Own Landscape Designer

How to Be Your Own Landscape Designer

Hybrid Event

Join us at South Coastal Library for an educational talk on landscape design. Avoid common pitfalls like buying plants first, and then trying to find a proper space for the plants to flourish. With a well thought out plan, you will have more success, and this presentation will show you how to formulate that plan. In this talk, we will discuss the questions to ask yourself so you can properly evaluate your entire yard, a small bed, or a corner and how to take those factors into account when preparing a design. You should consider things like color, light exposure, wind, salt, soil conditions, maintenance, to ecological impact and the future use of your land area. You will see how to go from thought to graph paper just like the professionals! Now is the time to “get planning” so you can “get planting” in the Spring!

The first 30 participants will be guaranteed a seat in the audience if they wish and will be called to confirm. Subsequent registrants will be able to watch the program via Zoom. Registration opens Dec. 15, 2021.
