Homeschool Connection: The Science of Skating
Participants will learn about the history of skating, and how engineering (and reverse engineering) play a part in that history. Participants will then work in groups of up to four, using reverse engineering to better see how the skate plate is built. Time permitting, participants will take what they have learned and begin the design process of creating a new feature for a roller-skate (or improving an existing feature).
Homeschool Connection is our monthly program for K - 5th grade homeschool students. We host a variety of presenters on different topics, and include a library skills extension for each class. Check in the kids' room for the schedule of presenters.
