Sussex Bird Club | Delaware’s Warblers

Sussex Bird Club | Delaware’s Warblers

Online

Many birdwatchers have a special fondness for warblers because most species are so colorful with pleasant songs. The arrival of warblers also heralds the onset of Spring. Since they will soon be arriving in Delaware, Sussex Bird Club is pleased to offer a lecture on “Delaware Warblers” by Ian Stewart. Get tips on how to find and identify some of our most common and not-so-common species by sight and sound. Ian also will discuss ways to attract warblers to your yard and help conserve these beautiful birds.

Ian Stewart is an Ornithologist with the Delaware Nature Society.  Ian grew up in north-east England where he enjoyed an outdoors childhood, exploring the woods and playing in rock pools. He obtained his PhD in Ornithology at the University of Leicester, UK, before taking bird research positions at the Universities of Kentucky and Delaware. He now works for the Delaware Nature Society where he operates public bird banding sessions and conducts research into how the society’s land management practices are affecting bird diversity with a particular focus on alien plant removal.

This event is co-sponsored with The Sussex Bird Club.
