Join us for a live online conversation with Sadeqa Johnson, author of Yellow Wife, a harrowing story of an enslaved woman forced to barter love and freedom while living in the most infamous slave jail in Virginia. Johnson will be joined in conversation by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kate Quinn.

Born on a plantation in Charles City, Virginia, Pheby Delores Brown has lived a relatively sheltered life. Shielded by her mother’s position as the estate’s medicine woman and cherished by the Master’s sister, she is set apart from the others on the plantation, belonging to neither world. Kate Quinn is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of historical fiction. A native of southern California, she attended Boston University where she earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Classical Voice. She has written four novels in the Empress of Rome Saga, and two books in the Italian Renaissance, before turning to the 20th century with The Alice Network, The Huntress, and The Rose Code. Kate and her husband now live in San Diego with three rescue dogs.
