Story Time and Q&A with DeShanna Neal

Story Time and Q&A with DeShanna Neal

Online

Join author DeShanna Neal for a story time featuring her new picture book My Rainbow, followed by a Q&A. The book, based on DeShanna and their daughter's real-life experiences, tells the story of a dedicated mom putting love into action as she creates the perfect rainbow-colored wig for her transgender daughter. The program is recommended for kids ages 4-12 and their families.

DeShanna Neal is a writer, activist, and advocate for black and transgender rights and awareness. They are the founder of the Intersections of Pride Foundation, a nonprofit that fills the gaps in equality and equity faced by the Black and Brown LGBTQ community in the state of Delaware. DeShanna and her daughter Trinity write to foster understanding between transgender, cisgender, and nonbinary children.

The program will be held on Zoom and registration is required. The login information will be emailed out approximately one hour before the program start time.

My Rainbow is available to check out from Delaware Libraries! Place a hold through our online catalog or by calling your local library.
