Happy Hour with Amy Latta | Hand Lettering Off the Page

Happy Hour with Amy Latta | Hand Lettering Off the Page

Online

Join us for a live, interaction online conversation with Amy Latta, author of Hand Lettering Off the Page: Easy Projects to Create Beautiful Décor, Apparel and Gifts. Amy will demonstrate basic lettering instruction for faux calligraphy and for brush technique. Participants can follow along from home and create their own canvas with their last name and florals. The first 20 registrants from the Lewes, Delaware area to sign up can pick up a free kit from the library with an 8x10" canvas and 20 paint markers donated by Marvy Uchida. All other registrants will need to provide their own supplies, which are an 8x10" canvas (either a stretched or flat), pencil and good eraser (Amy suggests this Tombow Beginner lettering kit), and fine-tip acrylic paint markers OR permanent markers in black and your choices of colors. To help with the cost of materials, Marvy Uchida has provided this coupon. Participants also need to print out these handouts for use during the workshop: Lettering Handout 1, Lettering Handout 2, and Lettering Handout 3.

In this new workbook, Amy guides you through 25 beginner-friendly craft tutorials in her signature down-to-earth writing style that makes hand lettering and DIY art achievable for anyone. Each project teaches the basics of a new skill, starting with Faux Calligraphy and simple embellishments, then expanding into more advanced fonts and techniques—all while teaching how to work on any surface. Packed with step-by-step photographs and practice pages, this book is a one-stop resource.

Amy Latta is the bestselling author of Hand Lettering for Relaxation, Hand Lettering for Laughter, Hand Lettering for Faith and Express Yourself: A Hand Lettering Workbook for Kids. She has appeared on Hallmark’s Home & Family teaching hand lettering, and her designs have been featured nationally in Starbucks and GAP stores. Amy lives in Hampstead, Maryland.
