Imagine Your Story with DASEF

Imagine Your Story with DASEF

Online

After reading the story of Rapunzel, children are challenged to build the tallest tower they can which will hold Rapunzel’s “hair”. In this problem-solving activity, participants are allowed only five sheets of paper and a roll of tape to build the tower. After their tower is built, parent and child will test to see if it will hold a long, braided cord that represents Rapunzel’s hair. You will also put your imagination to work as you write your own silly space story using a “Mad-Lib” format. Add some Art to the problem solving in your stories, and STEM becomes STEAM!!

Materials needed:

  • Masking tape/Scotch tape
  • Scissors
  • 5 sheets of copy paper (could be used/recycled paper)
  • Braided piece of cord (thick yarn) to serve as Rapunzel’s LONG hair
  • July DASEF Mad Libs
  • Pencil/Pen
