Book Discussion with Author Casey Cep | Lewes Public Library and the History Book Festival

In collaboration with the History Book Festival, join us to talk with Casey Cep, author of Furious Hours, one of the books featured at the 2019 History Book Festival. New York Time bestseller Furious Hours was one of President Obama's favorite books of 2019 and it was named one of the best books of 2019 by Time, LitHub, Glamour, O Magazine, Town and Country, and Suspense Magazine.

Kirkus Review writes, "Cep’s debut recounts how a series of rural Alabama murders inspired Harper Lee to write again, years after the publication of To Kill a Mockingbird. In this effortlessly immersive narrative, Cep engagingly traces how Lee found the case and began—and ultimately abandoned—a project she called The Reverend. Cep writes with the accessible erudition of podcast-style journalism; she breathes not only life, but style into her exhaustive, impressively researched narrative. Short histories of fraud, Southern politics, and urban development take shape alongside a condensed biography of Lee...[in this] well-tempered blend of true crime and literary lore."
