Sussex County Genealogical Society | Daughters of the American Revolution
Monthly meeting of the Sussex County Genealogical Society (SCGS), a non-profit organization. SCGS's Mission is to promote genealogy and educational work in a professional manner, encourage and instruct its members in genealogical research through careful documentation and maintain quality genealogical standards..
This month's topic is a presentation on the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) by Catherine Hudson, Registrar, DAR Major Nathaniel Mitchell Chapter and current Chapter Registrar. She also belongs to the Georgetown Historical Society. Cathy is a native Sussex Countian who can trace many family lines in Sussex to the early 1700s and on Delmarva back to the mid 1600s. She credits her grandmothers with sparking her interest in family history. Cathy also volunteers at the Nabb Center in Salisbury, a prime source for Delmarva history and genealogy.
