PAWS for Reading

PAWS for Reading

Register your child to read aloud for 10 minutes to a friendly therapy dog provided by PAWS for People.  Studies have shown that reading aloud to animals can actually help children improve their reading skills.  This is a great chance for beginner, reluctant and even beginning English learners to practice in a non-judgmental atmosphere with a book of their choice.  Preregistration is required; one child per 10 minute reading session.  (Parent or other responsible adult must be present in the library, including during programs, for any child/youth under the age of 16.)

** Please only register the child/children who will actually be reading.  Accompanying parent or guardian does not need to register as a participant unless they will be reading as well.
