Reading Therapy Dog Training with Literacy Education Assistance Pups (L.E.A.P.)

The L.E.A.P. organization (Literacy Education Assistance Pups) announces training sessions at the Greenwood Library for dogs and their owners to prepare to become reading therapy teams. The sessions are scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on the following Thursday evenings: October 10, 17 and 24. 

 

The dog must be at least one year old, pass a temperament test given the first session of the series, and attend all three training sessions.  Current vet records need to be provided and a background check for the handler is required. The handler must be at least 18 years old and pay annual dues of $40.00. For further information, call Robin Miller at the Greenwood Library at 349-5309.

 

The sessions are open to all 18 years and older. Registration is required and can be done by registering online at www.greenwood.lib.de.us, dropping by the Greenwood Library or calling 349-5309.
