The Good Liar is an old-fashioned crime caper set in London. Betty (Helen Mirren) is an elegant, well-to-do (she’s worth millions!), gullible retired Oxford professor who’s recently widowed. Because she’s lonely, she decides to use an on-line service called Distinctive Dating. There she meets career con man Roy (Ian McKellen) who sets his sights on his latest mark — her! But as the two draw closer, what should have been another simple swindle takes on the ultimate stakes. Legendary actors Mirren and McKellen star together on screen for the first time in this suspenseful drama about the secrets people keep and the lies they live.
