Gardening for Pollinators
Feed the bees and brighten your gardens! The Lewes Beekeeping Club, along with the Delaware Native Plant Society and Lewes In Bloom, will provide information on the types of plants homeowners can add to their gardens to provide food and shelter for pollinators, specifically butterflies and bees of all sorts. The Bee Club will provide an overview about the important role honey bees play in the production of the foods we enjoy; plant experts will suggest some of the best plants to add to gardens to attract pollinators as well as healthier, non-toxic approaches to minimize the use of harmful chemicals in the garden. There will be a question and answer session after the panel discussion and a chance to taste some local honey courtesy of the Bee Club.
Registration is requested. Sign up online, call the library at 302-645-2733, or stop by the Circulation Desk.
