Join the Lewes Public Library and The Listening Booth for Mr. Hetfield's Rock & Roll Summer Camp's final live performance! This rock concert will be held in Lewes Public Library's outdoor pavilion and feature musicians ages 8-18.

 The concert is free and open to all. No registration required, and seating is provided. The outdoor pavilion is located behind the Lewes Public Library at 111 Adams Avenue in Lewes. 

This will be the third and final performance of Mr. Hetfield’s Rock & Roll Summer Camp this season - a 20-year-running experiential program led by legendary local music educator and professional musician Walt Hetfield. A music teacher at Rehoboth Elementary School since 1993, Hetfield noted to the Cape Gazette that “per his math, he's done about 200 concerts at RES and has taught about 5,000 kids over the course of his career.”

 Through his summer camp alone, Hetfield has mentored roughly 400 or so young, aspiring rockers. This year’s campers will perform the songs that they have rehearsed, recorded, and performed during their time at camp. As experienced young musicians, these campers have been brought together to collaborate in an ensemble and experience the thrill of performing live with their bandmates.

This year, the camp is hosted by The Listening Booth, a local nonprofit music and performance venue in Lewes, with support from Education Director Nate McCormick. The Listening Booth is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit music performance and education venue dedicated to combating emotional isolation through the arts—specifically, original music, songwriting, and storytelling.
