Armchair Traveler: The Great Loop

Please note the library is open during construction. There may be times of increased noise due to construction and areas of the parking lot that are inaccessible. Due to the limited parking, carpooling is highly recommended. We appreciate your patience as we work to repair your community library.

Do you enjoy traveling? Are you a boating enthusiast? If so, come to our next Armchair Traveler talk on Monday, June 8 @ 3:00 pm. This month we will hear the experiences and stories of boating the Great Loop from local resident Mike Fierstein. The Great Loop is an over 6,000 mile water route that forms a loop in the eastern part of the United States. It is composed of rivers, canals, the great lakes, bays and other bodies of water that interconnect to form a large loop.

The great loop is frequently a sought out adventure and challenge for boat enthusiasts and you can learn more about it here. In this brief 20 minute informal talk, Mike will share his experience completing the great loop with time for Q&A afterwards. Check out the interactive map as well on the website above! This event is free and open to everyone 18+. Located in our meeting room at the South Coastal Library. Registration is appreciated but optional.

In our armchair traveler talks we enjoy presentations by local community members about exciting, adventurous, and unique travel locations all from the comfort of our meeting room. We have learned about the pyramids of Egypt, seen amazingly close snapshots of Penguins from Antarctica, heard about thrilling whitewater rafting and much more! Interested in sharing your recent vacation with us? If so, contact Kristin for details.
