Introduction to Ancestry.com Library Edition

Introduction to Ancestry.com Library Edition

In-person

Wondering how to use the Ancestry.com Library Edition recently donated by the Col. David Hall Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)? Jon Smith from the Sussex County Genealogical Society (SCGS) will conduct a training class on how to use the Ancestry platform, starting with the multiple ways to search, how to format your queries for better results, how to tell the difference between "good" and "junk" data, limitations of the Library Edition versus a full subscription, and how to incorporate your results into your own tree. Laptop computers for use during the class will be provided.

Jon Smith serves as the Education Chair of the Sussex County Genealogical Society. He also serves as the Secretary and Education Chair for the North Carolina Genealogical Society, the Education Chair for the Howard County (MD) Genealogical Society, and the Genealogist for the NC Cline Family Association. In addition, he teaches on-line genealogy courses at Howard Community College.

The Sussex County Genealogical Society promotes genealogy and educational work in a professional manner, encouraging and instructing its members in genealogical research through careful documentation and maintaining quality genealogical standards.
