Learn American Mah Jong! (Part 1)
Are you interested in learning how to play the American version of Mahjong? The South Coastal library is offering a free 3-part series on the basics of Mahjong taught by local instructor Lisa Stern. At the end of the three lessons, you should have a better understanding of how to play so that you can join a local group in your area. The game requires a commitment to the learning process, a positive attitude, and takes some practice. Each lesson is 2.5 - 3 hours long so light snacks will be provided but please feel free to bring a non-alcoholic drink with you.
- 2025 Mah Jong Large Print cards are available to borrow for this class and we will also have tile sets for in-house use.
- The purpose of this class is to learn how to play the game and games played are just for fun. No gambling is allowed on library property.
