Grab & Go STEM: Wind-Powered Cars

In this project, students design and construct a lightweight car—usually made from simple materials such as cardboard, straws, wooden skewers, and plastic wheels—and attach a wind-catching device such as a sail or propeller. When exposed to wind from a fan or natural outdoor breeze, the car uses the force of the air to move forward. This hands-on project encourages creativity and problem-solving while demonstrating how renewable energy—specifically wind—can be used to power vehicles.
