Join Sussex County Genealogical Society (SCGS) for the presentation "The Erie Canal, It's History, Creation and Importance to America" by Katherine Henn. This has been a personal research project by Dr. Henn as her grandfather was born on an Erie Canal boat! His father owned two canal boats and he worked on the canal until his early 20's. This is an interesting topic and an historical one, with much to learn and know about the state of New York, the towns between the beginning and end of the Canal, and its importance in so many ways.

SCGS is a non-profit organization and its mission is to promote genealogy and educational work in a professional manner, encourage and instruct its members in genealogical research through careful documentation and maintain quality genealogical standards.
