Landscapes of the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway: A Photographic Journey Through Delaware

Landscapes of the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway: A Photographic Journey Through Delaware

As part of the Delaware City / Polktown Juneteenth Observance, the Library is hosting a photographic journey of the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway.  The Library has partnered with award-winning Delaware City photographer Lynn Dilliplane for a display featuring the byway’s historic sites within the state of Delaware.

Lynn Dilliplane received her first camera at the age of five, igniting a lifelong passion. She later attended Moore College of Art in Philadelphia and interned at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the Photography and Print Department. Lynn has owned her own studio and business since 1973, offering portraits and fine art photographs, as well as wildlife and landscape views from her wanderings with her husband and trusted driver, Tim.

The exhibit opens May 27 and runs through June 21.

A framed print from the collection will be available for raffle now through June 7, when the winning ticket will be drawn at the Sankofa event that evening.

We hope you’ll join us for this melding of art, local history, and books!
