Presidential Election of 1912 - Theodore Roosevelt

By 1912, Theodore Roosevelt was becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the presidency of his handpicked successor, William H. Taft. While Woodrow Wilson was the Democratic Presidential candidate in 1912, the Republican nomination became a contest between incumbent President Taft and former President Roosevelt. Upon not gaining the nomination, Roosevelt started the Bull Moose party and became the first significant third-party candidate for President.
