THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT AND THERE IS NO WAIT LIST

The Sussex County Libraries Beachside Book Festival, in partnership with Browseabout Books, welcomes best-selling thriller author David Baldacci to speak about his newest book, Strangers in Time. Baldacci’s newest novel, set in London in 1944, tells the story of a bereaved bookshop owner and two teenagers scarred by the Second World War, and the healing and hope they find in one another.

THIS TICKETED EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE Rehoboth Beach Convention Center (229 Rehoboth Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE). Tickets are general admission and doors will open at 4:00 PM.

TO PURCHASE YOUR TICKET, GO HERE.

Your $35 nonrefundable ticket* includes one autographed copy of Strangers in Time. Mr. Baldacci will speak for 45 minutes, followed by a meet & greet, where he will personalize books and take photographs with attendees. Additional signed copies of Strangers in Time (as well as Mr. Baldacci's other titles) will be available for purchase before and after the event. $5 from each ticket sale will be donated to the Sussex County Library System.

David Baldacci has been writing since childhood, when his mother gave him a lined notebook in which to write down his stories. (Much later, when he thanked her for being the spark that ignited his writing career, she revealed that she’d given him the notebook to keep him quiet, “because every mom needs a break now and then.”) Baldacci published his first novel, Absolute Power, in 1996. The feature film adaptation followed, with Clint Eastwood as its director and star. In total, Baldacci has published 50 novels for adults; all have been national and international bestsellers, and several have been adapted for film and television. His novels are published in over 45 languages and in more than 80 countries, with 150 million copies sold worldwide. He has also published seven novels for young readers. A lifelong Virginian, Baldacci received his Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, after which he practiced law in Washington, D.C.

Participating libraries include: Bridgeville, Georgetown, Greenwood, Laurel, Lewes, Milton, Rehoboth, Selbyville, and South Coastal.

*Tickets are nonrefundable.  If you cannot attend the event, you will still receive your signed copy of Strangers in Time. Your book will be held at Browseabout Books and must be picked up by May 30, 2025. Any copies left after that date will be donated to the Sussex County Library System.
