Homeschool Connection: Secrets of George Washington w/Author Ilona Holland

Homeschool Connection: Secrets of George Washington w/Author Ilona Holland

You probably already know that George Washington was the first president of the United States and a famous general.  But you probably did not know that he was also a farmer, scientific thinker, and problem solver.  He used science and technology to make life at Mount Vernon more productive. Can you guess how a fan chair, a sixteen-sided barn, a water-powered cup elevator, and a copy press each changed life on the plantation?  No?  Come and hear Dr. Ilona Holland, award-winning kids' author, tell you all about these innovations.  No matter the problem, George Washington often found a remarkable solution.

Homeschool Connection is our monthly program for K - 5th grade homeschool students. We host a variety of presenters on different topics, and include a library skills extension for each class. Check in the kids' room for the schedule of presenters.
