The Extraordinary Gardener - Spring Break Extravaganza 2025
This year, we join local libraries and community partners for the twelfth year of the Longwood Gardens’ Community Read—a program designed to encourage reading for pleasure and to start a conversation surrounding gardens, plants, or nature.
To celebrate the twelfth year of the Community Read, Longwood Gardens selected two books that explore the powerful impact gardening can have on our lives. For young readers, The Extraordinary Gardener by Sam Boughton is a beautifully illustrated story about a young boy seeking color in a dreary world. We will read the book, hand out copies of the book to each child, do a craft, and do some activities about gardening.
Registration recommended... Those registered will be admitted first then, if there is extra room, others will be allowed to join in. Maximum space for 20 children. Please register with one name, add additional guests for additional children, Do Not count adults in your party.
Please cancel your registration if you find you cannot attend so that if there are people on the waiting list they can be notified and attend. Thank you.
