This class is for those drivers who have previously completed the 6-hour basic defensive driving course.

Delaware drivers are required to take the full 6-hour Basic class the first time. If you have completed the 6-hour class, you are eligible to renew benefits by attending the 4-hour Intermediate class if your last certificate of completion is no more than 180 days beyond expiration. If your last certificate of completion expired more than 180 days ago, you will need to retake the 6-hour Basic class again.

Those who complete the Intermediate AARP Driver Safety course will receive:

• A certificate of completion (good for 3 years)
• A 3-point credit toward future infractions on your license
• 15% discount on the Comprehensive portion of your insurance

The class fee is $20.00 for AARP Members and $25.00 for non-AARP members. The fee is payable to the instructor at time of the class and should be paid by check or money order only made payable to AARP Driver Safety.
