Craft Talk & Reading with Michael Kardos: Writing the Compelling Story

Craft Talk & Reading with Michael Kardos: Writing the Compelling Story

What makes some stories truly gripping rather than merely competent? In this combination craft talk and reading, Michael Kardos will discuss key elements that contribute to the most compelling fiction. Novelists and short story writers will leave with valuable tools they can immediately apply to get their writing moving in 2025.

Michael Kardos received a 2024 Individual Artist Fellowship in Fiction (Established Artist category) from the Delaware Division of the Arts. A two-time Pushcart Prize winner, he is the author of the novels Bluff, Before He Finds Her, and The Three-Day Affair, the story collection One Last Good Time, and the textbook The Art and Craft of Fiction: A Writer’s Guide.

This program is supported, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
