Sign up for our 3rd Annual Tiny Art Contest & Show! Unleash your creative side and transform a tiny 4"x4" canvas into your own little masterpiece!  Four age categories to choose from, and prizes will be awarded in each division!  Artwork will be displayed in the library January 10 through February 28, 2025 with accompaning artist's first name and age category.
 

The Details:

• Registation starts October 1  and ends November 1, 2024 or until full
  • All registered patrons will receive a free take-home art kit with an entry form. Kits may be picked up starting November 2, 2024. Kits will contain a 4x 4 small blank canvas, an entry form, and either acrylic paints/brushes (ages 8+) OR paint markers (non-toxic for ages 6-8.) Additional paint pen colors are available for use in the library. 
  • There is no theme, and you may use your own materials to decorate the canvas if you prefer. Photography and computer-generated artwork will not be accepted. Professional artists may not register for this contest, but are encouraged to participate as judges--please ask Bernadette for details.
  • Artwork must be submitted with completed entry form by 6 pm on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025. Brushes and minimally-used paint pens will need to be returned to the library. 

Age divisions:

• Adults (18+)
• Teens (Ages 13-17)
• Preteens (Ages 9 to 12)
• Children (Ages 6 -  8)

Prizes in each age division:

• 1st Place:  $50 Michaels Gift Card
• 2nd Place: $25 Michaels Gift Card 
• 3rd Place: Art supplies valued at $15
• People's Choice Awards: Ribbons only.

Timeline:

Oct. 1 2024 @ 10 am: Registration begins.

Nov. 2, 2024 @ 10 am: Kit pickup for registered artists begins.

Jan. 6, 2024 Before 6 pm: Final day for artists to bring their artwork and completed entry form to the library!

Jan. 10, 2025: Artwork on display without nametags.

Jan. 10 - 27: Local professional artists judge show & library patrons vote for People's Choice Awards.

Jan. 29 (Wed.) @ 5:30 - 6:30 pm:  Winners Revealed & Prizes Awarded! (Tags with First Name and Age Group accompany artwork.)

Mar. 1 @ 10 am: Artists can begin picking up their artwork.
