50th Library Fest - Celebrating 50 Years at this Location

Free event with live music, UD ice cream, PAL trailer, K9 demonstration, firetruck, bounce houses, face painting, crafts, games, author talk, cake, and book giveaway. Food trucks available for food purchases.

If 50th Library Fest on Saturday, November 2nd is rained out, this event will take place from noon to 4pm on Sunday, November 3rd. The library building will open at 1pm Sunday regardless of the 50th Fest.  

Featuring community partners: Friends of the Newark Free Library, Newark Police Department, UD, Aetna, Chemours, The Newark Partnership, Newark Arts Alliance, City of Newark, Bloom, and New Castle County.

Our library will be open, and our parking lot will be closed for the event.

Alternative parking areas for the event are as follows:

Old Kmart lot at 100 Grove Lane

Placers building parking lot 850 Library Avenue

Newark High School faculty parking lot 750 E Delaware Ave (NHS main lot unavailable on Nov 2)

Handicap drop off location at the library entrance on Main Street
