Drive the Cold Winter Away – A Program of Traditional Tunes and Songs

All hail to the days that merit more praise than all the rest of the year,

And welcome the nights that double delights as well for the poor as the peer!

Sweet blessings attend each merry man’s friend that doth be the best that he may,

Forgetting old wrongs, with poems and songs, to drive the cold winter away.

Ampersand rejoices to present a set of tunes and songs celebrating winter and
warmth, good cheer and libations, and friendship and good company. Choosing
music from the 1850s and earlier, this quartet brings guitar, banjo, mandolin,
hammered dulcimer, cello, bouzouki, penny whistles, and percussion to
underscore rich vocal harmonies and great joy in sharing this traditional music with
modern audiences.
