Join us in person for a conversation on a French movie previously seen at home. Please note: basic French conversational ability is required. This group is for participants 18 years and older.
This month's meeting discusses the 2019 film Papicha. In 1997 Algiers, terrorists wanting an archaic Islamic state are everywhere. They oppress women, determined to control their bodies, clothing, and public space. Young student Nedjma is passionate about creating a fashion show. Directed by Mounia Meddour. Written by Fadette Drouard and Mounia Meddour. Starring Lyna Khoudri, Shirine Boutella, and Hilda Amira Douaouda.
