Tools for Tots: Hometown Heroes - Preparing Kids for Positive Introductions to their Community Helpers (Fire Fighters, Police, EMTs)
During this final session of this sesason's Tools for Tots theme, "Around Town," we will focus on creating positive introductions and connections with our local community helpers. Bright lights, noisy sirens, and lots of specialized gear... Kids are often either mesmorized or scared when they encounter a community helper. And if there's a true emergency, we want kids to be alert and responsive. Join Child Inspired's pediatric specialists to learn positive tips and strategies for turning these interactions into positive community and trust-building experiences. Kids will have an opportunity to explore playful activities and prepare a fun make-and-take that emphasizes the value of emergency preparedness.
Join us at the Lewes Public Library immediately after Children’s Story Time, for family-child workshops to explore and promote healthy development. While caregivers enjoy a brief presentation by a member of Child Inspired’s therapy team and are encouraged to voice concerns or share experiences, children are invited to participate in a hands-on, developmentally-appropriate activity conducted by one of Child Inspired’s child educators.
