Hillary Sussman Author Visit

Hillary Sussman Author Visit

Join us at Newark Free Library for another fantastic Children's Author visit with...Hillary Sussman!! Hillary has been a physical therapist in the Philadelphia area for over 24 years and author of Roxy and Maliboo: It's Okay to Be Different. The book features a lovable dog named Roxy who loses her leg. Once cleared for the park, she sees a dog sitting alone, looking sad. She soon meets Maliboo, who is missing an ear and is different too. She shares her story of her limb loss with Maliboo, and helps him gain the confidence to play with the other dogs, despite his unique feature. The story teaches the lesson that "It's okay to be different". The book also teaches limb difference awareness, kindness, and inclusion.

Hillary will present both her books with activities throughout to spread important messages about inclusion, kindness, empathy, anti bullying, acceptance, and limb difference awareness. Stay after the program for a free book signed by the author!! Best for ages 3-12. Registration Required!

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Newark Free Library, who are a volunteer non-profit organization bringing support to your library through funding and advocacy. We are pleased to provide this event to our community through a generous donation in honor of James E Dianich to promote children's literacy at the Newark Free Library.
