ASL Poetry Night

ASL Poetry Night

September is Deaf Awareness Month! Please join us for an educational and fun session with students and staff from Delaware School for the Deaf. They will share some of their original ASL Poetry pieces and give a talk on the rules and features of poetry in American Sign Language. Compare what you know about English poetry with what you learn in this session to gain some insight and beginnning awareness of ASL - the language most Deaf individuals consider their first or primary language.

Interpreters will be present to facilitate Q&A between attendees and presenters. If you're curious about deafness and/or about American Sign Language, register for this great event! All Ages! Registration Required

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Newark Free Library, who are a volunteer non-profit organization bringing support to your library through funding and advocacy.
