World-Building: Making Any Fictional World Authentic
How did J. K. Rowling create the world of Harry Potter? Or Frank Herbert, the world of Dune? Join moderator Weldon Burge with authors of several genres for a panel discussion about world-building techniques. They will discuss how to invent fictional history, geography, culture, magical properties, and other aspects of creating a believable world. Writers and readers are welcome. A book signing and conversational opportunities with the panelists will follow the session.
