Growing Together: Green Invaders

Online

They lurk in the sheltered recesses of your garden. They decorate your lawn with pretty flowers that quickly turn into exploding white puffs and disperse yet more invaders across your yard. They steal water and nutrients from the very plans that you work so hard to nudge toward healthy growth.

Weeds, the green invaders of our lawns and gardens, are a constant challenge for gardeners. Luckily, there are a variety of ways to help you keep weeds subdued.

This presentation, led by Jack Bruhn of the Delaware Master Gardeners, will examine the many ways that weeds have evolved to be successful invaders. Weed identification will be covered. Finally, we will explore a simple set of factors that will help you select the methods and tools that best meet your needs.

This program will be held virtually, which means registration is required. Attendees will receive the Zoom link on the afternoon of the event. This program will also be broadcast simultaneously in the Community Room at the New Castle Public Library (424 Delaware St. in Historic New Castle) for those who are unable to watch from home. For more information, please reach out to Adult Services Librarian Tyler Antoine at 302-328-1995.
