Eco-Friendly Gardening

Join local landscape designer and nature consultant, Chantal Bouchard, for a talk on environmentally friendly and organic gardening. Chantal will explain the importance of organic / environmentally friendly gardening, what it is, and how it can be accomplished. She will discuss soil testing and soil amendment, native plants, choosing the right type of plants for your geographic area and more. She will also briefly cover common garden insects and discuss eco-friendly treatment and removal options. Registration is appreciated. 


This program is designed to promote interest, exploration, and education in gardening and environemntal science which can supplement science-based collections, libguides, and other library services. Science is key for broader understanding of the world around us, and the study of science encourages analytical thinking, conservation, development of technology skills and mathematics.
