Nikki Giovanni is a poet, writer, commentator, activist, and educator.  She has been awarded an unprecedented  7 NAACP Image Awards, has been nominated for a Grammy and was a finalist for the National Book Award.  Giovanni has authored 3 New York Times and Los Angeles Times Best Sellers, which is highly unusual for a poet and is a University Distinguished Professor at Virginia Tech.

Join us to hear Nikki speak on her life, career and witness her poetry live. We will also hear live poetry from the State of Delaware Poets Laureate "Twin Poets" and local spoken word artist Derin Felder.
