Adult Craft: Paint Welcome Alphabet Nautical Flag Wall Decor
Spell out your name or favorite word using the nautical alphabet. We'll paint the bright maritime signal flags onto wood and then hang them on clothesline for the perfect beach decoration.
The use of the nautical alphabet began in the 18th century by British, French and American seamen. It was used by merchant and warships until the widespread use of wireless radio. Flags, representing letters, were strung together to make words or code signals and hauled up the mast.
